Fernet Branca’s Fernetwork TV
Fernetwork TV was built on a simple premise: what if Fernet could advertise in bars without it feeling like advertising? The answer was a long-form looping video designed to live on bar TVs — something patrons could glance up at and actually want to watch. The content mixed segments freely: archival commercials and vintage posters pulled from Fernet's history, crocodile lore, brand trivia, subliminal messaging, and infomercial-style spots that walked the line between earnest and absurd. The program was also marketed directly to bars and bar owners, with a traveling installation brought to tradeshows and events so they could see FTV in action before signing on.
I concepted segments of the content and storyboarded the entire program — mapping out the full arc of the loop and how the different segments would flow together. I created frames that guided the video editors through production and worked closely with them to bring each segment to life and stitch the whole thing into a cohesive experience. On the physical side, I designed the FTV cart used at tradeshows and the brochure that went out to bar owners making the pitch.
